Never be deceived by Pride ----------------------------- The Pride of your heart has deceived you - Obadiah 1.3 Pride caused satan (tempted to exalt himself as GOD) to fall- Is. 14:12-15 Satan rebelled against GOD because of being Proud. A Proud person is a servant of the devil and a stranger to GOD. We should guard our hearts from Pride to enter. When Pride enters a persons heart, it surely brings destruction. When Pride enters a haughty Spirit follows and ruins a person. Adams pride brought about the fall of man.Adam desired to be as GOD and brought the whole race into destruction - Rom. 5:12. Proud people are servants of the devil and not GOD. Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty Spirit before a fall- Prov. 16:18.It is Pride that makes a person think more of himself (even equaling himself with GOD) How will GOD handle the Proud ? The LORD detests all the proud of heart. Be sure of this: They will not go unpunished - Prov. 16:5 Though you ascend as high as the eagle, and though you set your nest among the stars, from there I will bring you down says the LORD Almighty - Obadiah 1:4 A Proud heart will never accept to turn from his sin onto repentance and faith in Jesus Christ.A Proud heart cannot accept correction (even if its right and has come from GOD). A Proud heart will always think what he is doing is right and will never take advise from anyone. A Proud heart always like to exalt Self and I. A proud heart always like to talk about himself and his works/deeds and also expect others to talk about him. A Proud heart always like to Glory on himself. A proud heart will always like to criticize and pass judgement on others - Obd. 1:15. A proud heart will rejoice in Gods judgement on others - Obd. 1:12-14. A Proud heart compares with others and comes to a conclusion they are better than all. A Proud heart even equals himself to Almighty GOD. How to prevent pride from entering the heart ? 1) Worship and Exalt Almighty GOD all the time. 2) Remember the Love of Jesus Christ - Love and humble sacrifice on the Cross of Calvary. Think and meditate on the sufferings of JESUS.Always thank JESUS for the salvation.(If it was not GOD we would have never been saved from sin. Deny your self and carry the cross daily) 3) Build and model your life in the footsteps of JESUS and His teachings 4) Let the first place in your heart be JESUS and all other things secondary. Glory in JESUS all the time 5) Refuse to criticize and judge others as criticism / judgement will come upon us one day - Obadiah 1:15 6) Never rejoice in Gods judgement on others but like GOD seek their reconciliation - Obadiah 1:12-14 7) Always be humble in your heart (Keep on thanking GOD for the blessings given in your life) and humble yourself in the presence of GOD God opposes the proud but gives more Grace to the humble- James 4:6 If Pride enters a persons heart, GOD has ways to humble him. Jesus said, For those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted - Math. 23:12 Lord Jesus birth , life , works was out off love and humility. A true mark of being humble. The Master who taught His disciples kneel ed down and washed His disciples feet - True mark of Love and humility. Jesus - King of Kings , Lord of Lord , Creator and Savior of the whole earth Being found in appearance as a man, He humbled himself by becoming obedient to death even death on a cross - Phil 2:8 When the Lord Jesus has blessed us with Spiritual and material blessings lets always learn to Glory in Our Master and walk in His footsteps in humility May we walk in the footsteps of Our Lord Jesus Christ and may the Holy Spirit lead us into walking in humility before God and men fulfilling His Will in our lives..
