Never be distracted by one narrative. The attack on Charlie Hebdo in Paris, France is about many things at once. For example, while this was indeed an attack on free speech, the response of the French government as well as world governments must come under equal scrutiny. While we ask ourselves the obvious questions, i.e., How did this happen? How can we prevent this from happening again? We must also ask ourselves uncomfortable questions like, What role did we play in radicalizing our fellow countrymen? Is there another solution that does not involve force? Be wary of those who try to shut down the discussion when you say something that offends them and also be aware of how you take personal offense in a conversation like this. The attack on Charlie Hebdo does not have one solution or one counter move but many. #JeSuisCharlie
