Never has humanity faced as many major challenges as it does today. Issues related to the relationship between energy and climate change, water, food, infectious diseases and demographic issues must all be addressed and resolved. Perhaps our greatest challenge, however, is to learn to live together in a globalised world – to be able to see the future in a perspective that tackles the impact of climate change and includes equity and fairness between cultures and generations, argues Lena Adamson.
