Never let it be said that I am unreasonable nor that I am not willing to admit to an error in judgment when readdressing the facts of a situation. After reviewing the video from many different sites (its all over the place) it appears that Ray Rice gestures (possibly spit on) his wife to provoke her which lead to the slap which lead to fight. Now before any of yall get on your high horses Tonya was the ONLY one that pointed this out the rest of you took the PC Holy route of it doesn’t matter or if it were your daughter/sister/mother so if you are one of them don’t bother commenting and go back to your glasses houses. If it turns out that HE provoked HER (which looking again at the video it appears he did) then HE is at fault. While I am not on board with Double Jeopardy and don’t agree with the punishment I understand the business decisions that are being made in this case. My original post spoke about the hypocrisy of how women are treated vs men and I stand by it, if a woman hits a man society has determined that it is unacceptable for that man to hit her back regardless of how damaging it may be but that does not appear to be the case here. I also standby my comparisons to others that have done the similar things and have walked away with us blinking any eye…however I will take the hope vs despair path on this and give them the benefit of the doubt . Maybe this truly is a turning point and they will hold the rest of the league to a higher standard… we will see Now for you holy rollers and captains out there living in glass houses looking down from your perch preaching the scripture about them getting help while passing Gods judgment on them… I am just going to say I don’t know their relationship or personal lives. I don’t know why she stayed and married him nor why she didn’t reach out for help. I can only go off what I saw so now that we have completely ruined their family lets let them heal because if they didn’t need or seek counseling before they are definitely going to need to now.
