Never underestimate the Iron Range Mafia and rest of the N MN DFL delegation. Representatives David Dill, Metsa, & Anzelc; all Iron Range DFLers and 3 GOPers; Nornes, McDonald, and Franson, are authors of this bill to nullify United States Environmental Protection Agency authority in Minnesota. Bear in mind that David Dill (Crane Lake - DFL) is chair of the Environment and Policy Committee in the House. All environmental bills must go through his committee - his committee is the first stop for any environmental bill. Committee Chairs are the closest thing you get to acting as God in government. They can refuse to hear any bill at their own whim. There is no voting or democratic decision making in the legislative process of committee chairs. You want a two word response in why MN can not get any meaningful environmental legislation moving - from wolf hunting to sulfide mining - the two words are David Dill.
