New Babies will hit the rock! The so called democracy embodies multi-party systems in a supposed and or democratic countries. Everytime Lesotho heads for the next general elections, we hear of formation of new political parties and or breakaways as it had usually proven to be the case. It seems however that today the time for plaughn came early as there are alleged reports of two(2)/three(3) new babies to be born in Lesothos political party environment. Notably is The Voice, a party that reports indicate is focused around the youth, AND that of the MP of Stadium Area constituency and former All Basotho Convention constituent. Ladies and Gentlemen we saw the formation of political parties like MFP, PFD, BBDNP, WHITE HORSE, SANKATANA AND MANY MORE and they have all perfomed very poor! Now, what does this imply? Does a country of about 1.8 Million people, and about 300 000 or more people eligibl to vote, need more than 15 political parties? Will these new parties secure even a seat in the House of Representatives, kapa litlo kena ka ntsoepelele? The situation has proven otherwise to those with hope that they will make it, when Thomas Thabane formed ABC, about 17/18 disgruntled members of Lesotho Congress for Democracy defected to his party and supprisingly it obtained ten urban constituancies. It therefore indicate that the situation is hostile to few and not to others, e.g MFP, PFD, SANKATANA, WHITEHORSE e.t.c Now why did Thabane for the first time prosper in the formation of ABC and win constituancies to an extent that he is now the comander in chief? You find out what that is, you realize like Chief Leabua once said in his political rally held at Likueneng constituency in 1985, that ho theha party ha se potele.
