New Bracelet May Replace the Password, House Keys A Canadian - TopicsExpress

New Bracelet May Replace the Password, House Keys A Canadian company has developed a bracelet that will use a wearer’s heartbeat to act as a password and house keys. The Nymi band—developed by Bionym, a Toronto-based company that just received $14 million in venture capital funding—includes a sensor that detects a wearer’s electrocardiogram, or cardiac rhythm, which is as unique as a person’s fingerprint. It can then send that “identity credential” via Bluetooth to devices in the vicinity, including smartphones, cars, or hotel-room doors. The result will be, the company says, “a password- and key-free environment.” The first bracelet costs $79 and is due to debut this fall. It already has 10,000 preorders, the company says.https://youtube/watch?v=jUO7Qnmc8vE
