New Brunswick In the southeast there is a partly cloudy sky while the remainder of the province is overcast. At 3°C, Red Pines is the coldest location. Point Lepreau is the hot spot at 12°C. Winds are variable calm to light. The forecast calls for variable cloud today with 3 to 5 mm of isolated showers in the south and 5 to 10 mm of light rain in the north. This is a result of a cold front crossing the Maritimes pushing precipitation into the region. Dry air and cooler temperatures will arrive in the wake of the front, reaching western areas this afternoon and sliding eastward by late afternoon and early evening. The afternoon high temperatures will range from 13°C to 15°C in the south and 10°C to 12°C in the north. Tonight the mercury will dip to 2°C to 4°C. The winds will be generally south to southwest at 15 to 20 km/h. Overcast skies are being observed over Paquetville. The temperature is 6°C with a 5 km/h wind. Humidity is 100% and the barometric pressure is 1009 hPa and falling. Paquetville should expect some light rain this afternoon and scattered showers in the evening. This will bringing 5 to 10 mm total accumulation by the time it ends overnight tonight. An umbrella might come in handy today when encountering those showers and rain. #BackyardWeather (Stephen)
