New England peeps!! As the Ban on hunting bears with dogs in ME - TopicsExpress

New England peeps!! As the Ban on hunting bears with dogs in ME is up again.. ussportsmen.org/antis/hsus-bankrolling-maine-bear-hunting-ban/ I think we need to consider and watch this.. IT failed to pass in ME before, so they tried California.. Won, Now they are trying for a complete BAN ANY USE OF DOGS FOR ANY HUNTING!! in California! gundogforum/forum/viewtopic.php?f=69&t=45416 So that seems to be the pattern.. now the demographic is way different than it was in ME, back when the HSUS tried this before and lost.. but now?? yeh odds are most people are going to say oh of couse.. sadly timing on this also is the same time as a election.. so cost of advertising to express a separate view is $$$$$ So less rual hunters more people from areas who dont have any reason to care about using dogs.. but moved into the area due to low property cost.. Minimal budget has no funds to compete with HSUS with advertising.. Why does it matter?? like bear hunting or not, the pattern is there.. first get bear dogs banned, then go for any and all use of dogs? so what about stock dogs? are they next? Sigh.. keep in mind.. May not be a huge fan of bear hunting, but down south these very same dogs skills and use, are also used to be able to help control the feral pig problem.. If one bans all use of dogs for hunting, one less of it, so less reason to give a crap about habitat.. Ducks unlimited?? well it was the duck hunters that changed the idea of swamps to wetland conservation.. not to menton migratory birds and their roll in the environment.. two.. Dogs allow hunters to be more efficient, retrieve injured game.. just like stock dogs allow more efficient movement and less stress on stock, and the ability to allow stock more space and freedom.. May not like hunting.. but, its all pieces of a puzzle.. IF a legit argument and ban on using dogs for a specific purpose is shot down.. and illegal.. hell what makes owning a dog just as a pet for our enjoyment any less at risk?? sigh..
