March 15, 1-2, Artist Talk and Demo March 15, 2-4, Closing Reception Re-Imagining The Page is a show that explores the relationship of the book page to the actual book form. Can the work still be “read” when taken out of the lap and out of the hands of the viewer? Can the intimate relationship with journal pages still be achieved by asking the viewer to wander around the gallery rather than moving the pages? The manipulation of pages in a book offers the challenge of serial or sequential expression. In her aBuzz debut, Judith Cassel-Mamet is playing with the notion of sequential pages, but they are removed from the actual sketchbook and presented as an installation. Each page is a response to a photograph illustrating a news story over the course of 3 months (October thru December). Judith uses a wide range of mixed media to visually capture these current events. aBuzzGallery
