New Glory Devotional: HOW READY ARE YOU? – Tuesday March 18, 2014 By Pastor Ayodeji Agbelusi Memorise: Be ye therefore ready also: for the Son of man cometh at an hour when ye think not. Luke 12:40 Read: Luke 12: 34-40 Jesus in the gospel according to St. Matthew reminded us of the tragedy that struck the inhabitants of the earth in the days of Noah. That I think is enough a warning for every obedient child of heaven. I may not know how often you are taught or reminded that this world is not your home but I’m sure you are not reading this devotional as a mistake. This message is coming this morning to instruct you that there’s an end and your life now is a journey towards an end. You may not like it but on every birthday, people will seek to know how old you are. Meaning you are not getting younger and since you are actually growing old, it’s good you understand that you are drawing closer to the end by the day. The lord of that servant will come in a day when he looketh not for him, and at an hour when he is not aware, and will cut him in sunder, and will appoint him his portion with the unbelievers. Luke 12:46 You can only help yourself at such a time like this. Your pastor may not remember to tell you about eternity. I’m really serious here, this is the age of the blind leading the blind. Many of the leaders that so many people are following are chasing shadows in the bid to own the most expensive estate on the earth. Ask yourself, when was the last time you heard the real truth from your pulpit and leaders. Oh, you are pampered because you are making the number or you are worshipped for the little flow of funds in your domain? Don’t be deceived, there will be so many surprises at the second appearance of Jesus Christ because it’s obvious that so many people aren’t ready neither are they preparing to meet with the Lord. The question is, are you ready to meet with Him today? A song writer says: are your garments spotless, are they white as snow? These are also mighty questions. If you are off the track of His grace in the name of marriage, stardom, affluence, or fame, the door is still open. You can trace your way back this morning. Don’t allow the present evil world to take you away from the right path. Are you preparing to see Him as He plans to appear in glory any time? Remember, if you miss heaven you can’t miss hell. Now, what steps are you taking towards eternity with Christ, or are you actually working towards suffering in hell with the devil? Embrace righteousness and turn your back to the world. The devil is dangerously gathering souls to the broad way. I beseech you this day, get ready, prepare and be steadfast in faith. The coming of the Lord will be sudden and no careless soul will make it except they repent and serve the Lord starting from this very hour. Pray with me: Father, make me ready for you.
