New Hampshire’s HB 1452 was recently introduced in the New Hampshire legislature. HB 1452 “requires the court to give an instruction to the jury regarding jury nullification and requires the court to declare a mistrial if the instruction is not given to the jury.” Nullification means that jurors can vote to acquit defendants not only if they have reasonable doubt of guilt, but also if they simply don’t agree with the underlying law.
