New Hanover County leaders recently took a business trip to New Orleans that cost more than $10,000. Receipts show the county leaders ordered appetizers, entrees, and desserts at various dinners, and included a $30 pork chop meal at Emeril’s Restaurant and a $38 quail dish from Commander’s Palace. County leaders say there is nothing “excessive or inappropriate” about the purchases. Do you think this is a proper use of taxpayer dollars?
