New Job Cloud Storage Architect - BBBH112278 Industry: IT Job Type: Contract Location: Suwanee, Georgia We are seeking a Cloud Storage Architect for a Georgia based company. This role is responsible for storage architecture, capacity planning, customer solutions, deployment and provisioning coordination, ongoing operations and maintenance of the companys Cloud Storage Infrastructure platforms. Primary responsibilities of the Cloud Storage Architect include: owning the storage roadmap for companys cloud architecture; planning, configuration, deployment and support of geographically distributed, storage, replication and related backup infrastructures; participation in design and architecture for customer solutions; investigation and resolution of client support incidents. This position is a senior technical leader within the organization, and the Architect must be highly motivated and able to work autonomously. Strong interpersonal and written communication skills are essential. Members of the companys team are highly engaged with a focus on delivering services within agreed upon scope and schedule and ensuring client satisfaction upon engagement startup. Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills are highly valued and required. Demonstrated commitment to growth, service provider certifications and continued technical development is expected, including behavior and actions that exemplify the companys Customer Creed. Role and Responsibilities: · Manage the long-term company cloud storage architecture roadmap, including setting standards and policies, and integrate into the broader technology roadmaps · Be a champion and advocate for providing the best possible storage solutions to our customers · Lead the design and development of enhancements directly related to storage for existing company Cloud Products · Lead the innovation, design and selection of new storage technologies in support of Cloud Product Development initiatives and priorities · Architect will design and assist with implementation of highly complex new storage technologies across the infrastructure stack to include hardware, software, tools, automation, storage, virtualization and network. · Work with sales engineering to design complex infrastructure solutions that are cost effective, supportable and high performing. · Ability to be a leader on business (customer), sales, vendor and technical reviews to obtain critical infrastructure details to properly design and engineer and end to end infrastructure solution. · Architect is a core leader on project teams and is responsible for scope, budget, and timeline aspects of the delivered solution. · Design & implement new storage solutions in the Information Technology space for small to medium businesses, enterprises, and government customers · Lead technical teams and facilitates the communication and interaction amongst team members and other parties to achieve business and technology goals · Lead strategic assessments to formulate initial vision/scope and assess impact and risk · Lead strategic vendor and product evaluations, make recommendations. Vendor management with existing vendors and evaluate new potential technical partnerships. · Negotiate final logical and physical design across competing business, functional, non-functional, application, infrastructure, and security requirements as well as works efforts through other teams as needed ensuring proper and timely integration and delivery of system solution. · Ability to partner with other Sr. engineers across the infrastructure stack to ensure an end to end effective and high performing infrastructure is delivered to meet technical requirements or sales cycle completion. · Provide technical direction and oversight to junior engineers. · Provide consultative expertise to Sales Engineering, various teams, projects, and management across the enterprise. · Provide technical oversight on processes and selection of tools to manage virtualization capacity and performance. · Develop technical solutions that span infrastructure domains and are supportable by Operations QUALIFICATIONS Primary Skills/Knowledge and experience with: · Storage architecture experience in a large enterprise providing enterprise-grade, multi-tenant storage services · Primary expertise related to storage technologies; however experience across the infrastructure stack to include server, software, networking, tools is also expected · Experience with large-enterprise storage and associated storage technologies. EMC VNX and VMAX experience is preferred with a broad understanding of SSD, Flash and commodity storage markets. · Familiarity with storage equipment and configuration like Compellent, Nexsan, Equallogic, iSCSI, Fiber Channel, FCoE, DAS, etc. · Previous integration engineer experiences completing logical and physical designs to meet the technical needs to solve a business requirement. · Familiar with milestones, measuring risks, completing cost estimates and operational design documents. · Experienced completing Visio logical and physical design documents. · Experience with small/medium enterprises and their consumption of IT applications · Knowledge of automation, monitoring, build/provisioning processes, workload automation and virtualization capacity management concepts. · Knowledge of general project management practices, SDLC, release management processes, change control, CMDB Secondary Skills/Knowledge and experience with: · Extensive knowledge of Red Hat Linux and Solaris operating systems. · Extensive knowledge of Microsoft operating systems including Windows Server 2008, 2008R2 and Windows 2012 · Knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory server roles, authentication integration. · Virtualization tool knowledge from a capabilities, engineering and delivery aspects. · Experience with Cisco UCS converged infrastructure solutions · Experience customizing virtualization infrastructure to meet customer demands · VMWare lab manager (or similar virtualization tool) experience. · Citrix or other portal based solutions knowledge a plus. · Experience working in large Hyper-V environments · Experience working in large VMWare environments · Network protocols and methods including Ethernet switching, TCP/IP, DNS, SNMP, etc. Skills and Abilities: · Demonstrable previous Integration Engineering background (multi discipline) at a Sr. decision making level · Multi-vendor hardware and software experience · Previous work experience with a large service provider or work experience at the enterprise class technology consumer level. · Ability to work well within a team environment in a matrixed organization. MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS · BS in Engineering or Computer Science (preferred) · Industry Certifications (EMC, VMware, Cisco, etc.) · Six-Sigma Lean (desired) · ITIL formally trained or certified (desired)
