New Job Process Engineer - PTR14/701 Industry: Utilities Job Type: Permanent Location: Falkirk, Scotland Salary: £35000 - £40000 per annum + benefits Our client is a globally renowned market leader in the provision of technical solutions and services allied to the water treatment and management sector, and as a result of continued success and an ongoing programme of strategic growth, they are now seeking to recruit a dynamic and self-motivated Process Engineer to complement their established and successful Process Engineering team that supports the development of proposals and are involved in feasibility, outline design, detailed design and commissioning of discrete projects and also process optimisation and support for operations and maintenance contracts. Reporting to the Design Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for the upkeep and development of cost trackers and budgets for various jobs, supported by the Project Controller and for undertaking full cost estimation of a range of process improvement solutions. Taking a lead role for the process development and detailed design and commissioning of various projects, the successful candidate will develop systems and processes to improve design control, material selection and process parameters and leading multi discipline teams resolving plant issues and optimising plant performance where appropriate, working on complex industrial customer sites across a range of sectors including refining and petrochemical primarily although with additional exposure to power and food & beverage applications when required. Tasked with ensuring process safety and environmental standards are met within all designs, you will optimise plant performance to minimise environmental impact and any potential process safety issues and undertake the estimation and tracking of man hours required to complete various design tasks, producing project/proposal bids to be presented to new/existing clients and analysing process risk within the context of new projects and long term site service contracts. You will develop a fundamental understanding of design requirements, reviews, assessments (eg HAZOP, SIL), change control etc and a deep knowledge of plant process in order to understand internal Customer process issues, seeking innovative ways to deliver the outcome required for clients and solutions to plant process problems. You will provide process engineering support for sales proposals, consultancy assignments and detailed design for construction projects within an O&M plant environment to optimise plant performance and identify and deliver process solutions. It is envisaged that the successful candidate will be degree qualified in chemical or process engineering and have undertaken formal training in HAZOP, SIL, DSEAR, COMAH and ATEX (desirable). Ideally you will be a Charter member of the Institute of Chemical Engineers or working towards the C Eng qualification. Essentially you will demonstrate good process engineering experience, ideally gained in industrial/petrochemical environments and knowledge of utility, water and wastewater processes. Detailed design experience is essential as is a detailed knowledge of Design Risk Assessment and experience of direct customer contact.
