New Job Senior Buyer - Aerospace - 465642-25714 Industry: Aerospace Job Type: Permanent Location: Bedfordshire, England Salary: £35000 - £40000 per annum + Fantastic Benifits One of the worlds leading manufacturers of products and consumables to the Aerospace industry are currently recruiting a Senior Buyer to join their rapidly growing business. As a Senior Buyer you key duties will include; Being responsible for purchasing of product, stock management, supplier sourcing, contract agreements and supporting the Supply Chain Manager (SCM) during supplier negotiations. You will continually monitor and implement the purchasing strategy and stand in for the SCM when required. You will be supporting new project bids by identifying suppliers and obtaining quotes in a timely manner. Manage Supplier relationships, overall responsibility Direct & Indirect spend; for the procurement of Raw Materials, Components, Factored items, Third Party Services, etc. This will necessitate direct contact with suppliers. Placing of orders on suppliers for all Direct spend, production consumables, and indirect spend, and ensure all purchase orders are processed and approved using the internal purchase requisition system In conjunction with the SCM, carry out investment appraisal & payback on investment in tooling and capital equipment Recording of all packaging materials purchased/used to facilitate packaging waste returns Specific Skills: Strong IT Skills including SAP, and all Microsoft programmes Ideally from a 1 st or 2 nd tier environment within automotive, aerospace or engineering environment 3 years experience in an aerospace purchasing environment is also desirable Indepth knowledge of contract agreements and pricing/cost analysis and inventory management Qualifications: CIPS/MCIPS Qualification or working towards this, alternatively a degree level in a relevant discipline is preferred.
