Experience of buying metal products and materials is essential. The successful candidate must be able to make proposals and informed decisions on alternative materials. The role requires knowledge of MRP and experience of Lean Manufacturing. Strong Negotiation skills are desirable. The Role Reports to the Materials Manager and works closely with the Production and Engineering teams. Ability to work proactively and effectively in a team environment is essential. Qualifications and experience in electro mechanical or manufacturing buying Good problem solving skills Team working skills Able to work under own initiative Good inter-personal skills IT literate including standard office packages Sound knowledge of MRP and experience of Lean Manufacturing such as Kanban. Experience of materials including certification and alternatives Ability to read and understand engineering drawings Visits to suppliers will be required so a clean driving licence is required.
