New Literary Essay Collection Explores Life-Changing Travels and includes 3 members of the Circle Yoga community! Destinations & Discoveries: A Short Collection of Literary Travel Essays, edited by Meghan O’Neill. This collection of engaging travel essays explores the joys, challenges and insights travel can bring. Destinations & Discoveries enables readers to take vicarious journeys without leaving the comfort of their reading chair. It will appeal to people who love to travel or enjoy reading about others travel experiences. The editor, Meghan O’Neill, selected eight literary travel essays that are varied in both style and geography. The settings range from a Mexican fishing trip to rural Ireland, a western Canadian beach, a Tuscan kitchen, a snowy day in the Blue Ridge mountains, and a memorable study abroad experience in Paris. The writers who contributed to this book inform, instruct and inspire readers with stories that they dare to tell others about themselves. From transforming the first flutters of an idea into the well-crafted words that comprise these essays, each writer has captured a unique travel experience and shared heart and mind-opening lessons. The book’s contributors include three people from the Circle Yoga Community: Bonnie Foote, PhD, taught English literature at UCLA before she switched to teaching yoga in Washington, D.C. She and her grandmother have travelled together through, in chronological order, Disneyland, Europe, Southeast Asia, Antarctica and West Africa. Annie Mahon is a student, teacher and writer of mindfulness. She has become known for her monthly essays on mindfulness, a book of essays, Thoughts from Annie, and various articles on mindfulness and families. When not visiting her children, traveling the world, trying out new fitness modalities, writing or walking with her dogs, she practices yoga and mindfulness with her community at the Circle Yoga Cooperative in Washington, D.C. Marilyn Campbell is an award-winning feature writer whose work has appeared in Connection Newspapers, The Florida Times Union, Outside In Literary & Travel Magazine and the Spinnaker. She received an M.A. in writing from the Johns Hopkins University. She lives in Washington, D.C. with her husband and son.
