New Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini is set to raid - TopicsExpress

New Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini is set to raid Sevilla once more to land star striker Alvaro Negredo. The Chilean manager has already signed winger Jesus Navas from the cash-strapped Spanish side and he is now lining up a move for his old team-mate. Marca have reported that Pellegrini had three names on his wishlist when he arrived at the Etihad from Malaga. First was Navas, who he got, second was Isco, who chose Real Madrid and third was the prolific Negredo who hit 25 goals in 34 La Liga appearances last term. The 27-year-old frontman looked set to join Atletico Madrid who are still desperate to replace Radamel Falcao, who joined Monaco. But the two Spanish clubs have been so far unable to reach an agreement on a fee for the frontman which could let City in. Pellegrini himself needs a new face in attack having sold Carlos Tevez to Juventus and is now ready to splash in excess of £25m to get Negredo. It has been suggested in Spain that Sevilla are happy to do business with the Manchester club for a second time this summer, after such smooth negotiations in the deal for Navas. -Callum
