New National ID Card Could Be Used As Travel Document The new smart national identity card (ID) is in compliance with the security recommendations and standards of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and could be used as travel document. This was revealed after an independent laboratory and field test conducted on the new smart national identity card. The Deputy Director of the National Identity Management Commissions (NIMC), Mr. Abdulhamid Umar, disclosed this when he fielded questions from journalists at the Murtala Murhammed International Airport, Lagos at the weekend.
