New Orleans, its a beautiful city... But the crime and criminal element is out of control. Until something is done to drastically and dramatically change the criminal culture of the City it will not flourish as it should. This not only affects the suburbs of Jefferson and St Tammany but the State of Louisiana as a whole. This is a problem that involves all of us, not just Orleans Parish residents; as crime is oblivious to municipal boundaries. Today, my contractor called me wondering if I had hired anyone else to work on one of my projects as there was a truck in front and he heard someone hammering. I went over and two guys came out from the back door. In the two days since my contractor was last there, these criminals kicked the back door in, vandalized the property and stole the hardwood flooring from half of the house. Its actually rather amusing as Ive never heard of thieves stealing flooring which was installed before, but it is New Orleans... and crime is out of control.
