New President clears the fog in the Bay area The new span of the Bay Bridge wasn’t the only piece of groundwork laid out in recent months as new GGAFL President Kyle “Manly” Johnson paves the way for a new era of football in the Bay area. Manly has embraced the entrepreneurial spirit of the Bay area as he implements his 3 point plan for the GGAFL. “I am honored to be the newly elected president of this wonderful game in the best league of its kind in the US”, Manly was quoted as saying via his flip phone he purchased at a 7-Eleven in the fall of 1999. “I am excited for a massive year of football and I have no doubt this will be another record breaking year of participants in the league”, he added. Manly has sprung into action during his new term and has a sound plan already set out for the remainder of the year. Manly, who finds his clothing inspiration from Jerry Seinfeld, continues to be an asset to the league and his enthusiasm seems to rub off on all around. After spending the best part of his childhood in Perth, Manly formed a passion for the game after playing in a local league in Perth and accompanying his father to West Coast Eagles games. Manly joined the GGAFL in 2007 and has since represented his country as a starting player for the USA Revolution team. Kyle plays for the lowly Oakland Pirates in the GGAFL and is the third best footy player in his family. “Kyle is ok at footy, I guess. I mean he is not great, he is just ok. Do I like playing alongside Kyle? Sure, why not” Oakland Pirates team mate Luke Quirk was quoted as saying. Manly has won many awards during his footy career including “The PG&E best son in the world award”, “The PG&E cutest son in the world award” and “The PG&E best dimples award”. Kyle was also Captain and Coach and best player of the day at the PG&E annual East Bay Footy Carnival. Round 1 of the GGAFL starts on April 12 with the ANZAC all comers game the week before that on April 5. Check ggafl for the latest fixture information.
