New Prologue to Cristman I hope to have the new edit out this week...what do you think? Prologue: A pretty, young girl stands alone on a mountainside. She is dressed in the classic, 1970’s “hippy” style - with a large headband, bell-bottom jeans and a flowing green blouse. The view pans out, and the lush forest that covers the entire area comes into view. Animals begin to encircle her. They chatter away and watch her intently. She surveys the horizon a moment longer, and then turns her head to wink at them. As she raises her arms skyward and spreads them wide, an ornate bracelet catches the full intensity of the sunlight. “You better back up unless you want to go with me.” Speaking in a mumbled, but soothing tone now, the animals scurry back towards the woods. A moment later, the sky becomes darker, storm clouds forming, seemingly out of nowhere. Her words, foreign and quiet at first, grow louder and louder. The wind begins to howl, increasing in intensity – a thunderclap echoes in the distance. She closes her eyes, hair and blouse blowing more freely now, and the wind lifts her upwards - pulling her into the open sky and away from the mountain top. Within a moment, there is no sign left of her – no storm clouds or thunder - only the shining sun and signing of birds.
