Following his acid house rework “Slow Acid,” Calvin now previews “Outside” with #EllieGoulding, a closer step back into the radio realm Harris has championed long ago. Apart from the album’s forthcoming tracks featuring new collaborators like HAIM, Big Sean, and Gwen Stefani, Harris and Goulding are no stranger to working together in music. The collaboration retains the same harmonious affinity heard in the duo’s first partnered work, “I Need Your Love,” but introduces more serious undertones with a demanding orchestral synth break down playing opposite of Goulding’s breathy, delicate vocals.
