New Year, New Team, Same old DeVon! Im back and ready for another great year in Brazil! I had an awesome summer back in the USA and had a chance to work on my game and improve as player. Last season was a great introduction tho the NBB, but now I want MORE!!! I am on the hunt for a championship and I have joined a team that has the talent and the coaching ability to make that a reality. Club Athletico Paulistano otherwise known as C.A.P has welcomed me with open arms and made me feel right at home. I have been in Sao paulo for a little over a week and I am loving it! The bustling city of 12 million people is quite a change of pace from the relaxed beach-side paradise I called home last season. As I sit in my home on the eve of the season opener against Flamengo, I am exciting about the possibilities with my new club. Paulistano has a different brand of basketball and one that takes some getting used to. The organization and well as the style of play is very structured and precise. Working within the system however can be liberating because there is always 1 more option. That is where you have to be a professional basketball player and just make the correct read. I am joining many great Brazilian players as well as two outstanding American guards. Kenny Dawkins may be small in stature but he more than makes up for his size in his level of skill and and his general knowledge of the game. Desmond Holloway plain and simply a BALLER and he does what must be done to win. The NBB looks completely different than it did last season as many players have joined new teams. It will be interesting to see how each team performs. The only thing I know for this will best the best year the NBB has seen thus far. NBB7 tips off tomorrow evening with Paulistano v.s. Flamengo.
