New Year, new venue for fab food and wine! The Wine Tavern, St. Lukes. Lovely warm and welcoming. And just a short walk up from McCurtain Street on a fine evening, or the 207 an 208 buses stop outside the door. A friend and I had the Chefs Sharing Plate for two (costing only around €15 all in) Marinated Olives, Roasty Toasted almonds Cheese: Brie de Meaux, Knockanore Smoked Cheddar Cheese and Cashel Blue Meats Tom Durcan Spiced beef, Chorizo and Serrano Ham Dips Homemade Sundried Tomato Pesto, Hummus and Olivada Homemade Crackers, Melba Toasts and Fresh Arbutus Breads Washed down with a Tempranilllo Lar de Paulo (6 month spent in an oak barrel). Wine not included in price above. Thoroughly enjoyable, hugely recommended for a really lovely evening out alone or with friends. Or maybe a nice meeting place!! (Its kind of a cozy romantic spot!)
