New Year’s Messages from Sheriff Rowan Dear Citizens, Even - TopicsExpress

New Year’s Messages from Sheriff Rowan Dear Citizens, Even with all the doom and gloom happening around the nation, and all the negativity being directed at law enforcement, I would like to remind everyone that there are SO MANY good people out there who still believe in us. Just in the past few days alone, many of our great citizens have contacted me, either personally or by email, to express their overwhelming support for our agency, our mission, the jobs we perform, and the services we provide – and this happens throughout the year. THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT! We pledge to continue to protect and serve the great people and communities of Umatilla County. Dear Staff, I send praises to the fine men and women at the Umatilla County Sheriff’s Office, and in law enforcement everywhere, who proudly carry out their duties with honor every day. Even in the face of the dangers, criticisms and scrutiny that come with the job, these professional deputies and officers put our citizens first, ahead of their own safety, and they take care of the business of public safety. Our staff serves with integrity in a very honorable profession; from the deputy who protects our streets, neighborhoods, mountains and waterways, to the corrections deputy working in our jail, to the dispatcher taking that potentially horrific 9-1-1 call, to the civil deputy responsible for enforcing the orders of our courts, and all others, especially our dedicated volunteers. HAPPY NEW YEAR, and thanks for your dedication and professionalism! And above all else, PLEASE BE SAFE! Please watch the video below, written and narrated by the legendary Mr. Paul Harvey. Although written many years ago, the insightful words of Mr. Harvey, (the son of a policeman) are as meaningful and relevant today as they have ever been, https://youtube/watch?v=RUUZ2fKVqcs&sns=em
