New York State residents pay approximately $3.88 per gallon gas....Of which Exxon receives profit of 5.5¢ per gallon....Federal Government taxes 18.4¢ per gallon....And New York State taxes 50¢ per gallon....New York shares highest cost for gas tax in America along with California .... Albany, vote year in and year out by all good government watch dog groups as the most dysfunctional state government in America.... On another matter....California is now pushing a new tax law of 5¢ per mile driven by state residents in there cars....It appears that newer cars receive better mileage per gallon, which means less gas tax collected via tax revenue...Same talk which is happening in states as Washington & Oregon (Your so called Geenie States)..... Further talk in Washington DC of collecting $$$$ via tolls on ALL of Americas Interstate Highways...Expect outrage with drivers nationwide and increase in food cost via truckers cost past on to consumers....Federal/State gas taxes already collected are suppose to applied to infrastructure of roadways, which clearly are in disrepair....
