New York based Street artist Aakash Nihalani is a very creative mind that uses shapes to make us use our imagination. He uses neon tape to create geometric shapes such as isometric rectangles and squares to create an optical illusion of depth. Aakash Nilahani can easily transform dull places into something interesting. He tries to create a new space within the existing space of our everyday world for people to enter freely and somewhat disconnected from our reality. He usually place his graphics in the unexpected areas of New York where it highlights the elegant geometry of the city itself. Aakash started this project when he was using a painter’s roll to attach screen prints to a wall for a student exhibition and accidentally stumbled upon using tape. On the floor, there was pedestal space that suddenly cast a cubic shadow that matched the shapes he is using on his prints. So, he outlined the shadow with the tape and the rest is history. “People need to understand that how it is isn’t how it has to be. My work is created in reaction to what we readily encounter in our lives, sidewalks and doorways, building and bricks. I’m just connecting the dots differently to make my own picture. Others need to see that they can create tooo, connecting their own dots, in their own places” Have you enjoyed his creative street arts?
