To find the right person for the job, you need to have an accurate idea of the job itself and of the particular skills and attributes, it demands. We suggest four stages: - Job analysis: look in detail at what job involves - Job description: structure this analysis into written statement of responsibilities and tasks - Organizational analysis: look at what organization requires - Person specification: list specifics that applicant will need to perform job We will publish a checklist to undertake a job analysis on Tuesday.
