New city manager’s salary is $92,500 By Nancy Bowman DDN TIPP CITY, Oh. --- (October 16, 2014) Tipp City Council wrapped up its search for a new city manager Wednesday, Oct. 15, when it voted to hire Timothy Eggleston, currently city manager in Conneaut. Council voted 6-0,with member John Kessler absent, to hire Eggleston during a special meeting. The council first agreed to hire Eggleston and set his compensation and then agreed to a contract with him. Eggleston will be paid $92,500 a year and was hired for an indefinite term. He will start Nov. 17. John Green, city finance director, will serve as interim city manager until Eggleston’s arrival. More than 40 people applied for the manager position vacated with the spring departure of Jon Crusey, who is Vandalia’s city manager. Eggleston was selected from three finalists. Council members worked on the search with consultants from Slavin Management. City Council President Joe Gibson said finding the new manager was a big job. “We are most optimistic we have selected the right candidate,” he said. Mayor Pat Hale said he hopes Eggleston “loves it here as much as we do.” NANCY BOWMAN, CONTRIBUTING WRITER
