New customer comes in today with his BMW 335xi with an HVAC issue. I diagnose it, quote the job, then called him with what needs to be fixed. He immediately tells me hell pay for my labor, but he wants to source the part himself because He can find it online for cheaper. I replied with thats not how I do business and I wont install a customer supplied part, especially when the part is readily available and I can warranty the job. He comes later in the day to pick up the car and proceeds to lecture me why I should abide by his pricing and that bringing in his own parts is fair. I reply with an example, This situation is like me bringing my own hamburger meat to In N Out, and telling them to use that meat instead because it was cheaper.
