New life in Christ Luke 5:37 “And no man putteth new wine into old bottles; else the new wine will burst the bottles, and be spilled, and the bottles shall perish.” Christianity is not appending new life to the old life! It is a completely different set of standards. When someone has a heart transplant the new heart is not inserted in the system with the old heart. That would be a disaster. The operation would be a failure and the old heart would destroy the new one. In like manner you cannot place the new life of Christ concurrent with the old life in the world. Light does not coexist with darkness, it dispels it. You cannot have a light-dark room. To expound: when Christian music is adopted; the rock beat must leave. When modest clothing is implemented, immodest clothing must disappear. When good habits are assumed, bad habit must perish. When love for God is embraced, love for the devil must convert to hate for the devil. When Christian principles are pursued, worldly values must disappear. You cannot live the best of two worlds; it does not work. You are foolish to dwell between enemies. It is time to get with the Lord and resist the devil, get out of the world and live for God, and give up sin to live holy. If you endeavor to put new juice into old brittle skins the skins will burst. If you try to put God and the devil together you are going to get hurt. Pastor Wilson 7-17-2014
