New (old) favorite band. So many of my favorite things are in this bands music: angular electric guitar counterpoint, rich harmonic/melodic movement that is at once dissonant/pretty, snarky/socially concerned/resigned lyrics, noise, and some great unconventional uses of banjo/mandolin. It took me forever to decide what song to post because all of Strangers from The Universe and I Hope it Lands are excellent.
