New perspective on what it means to offer good customer service: I was at the Post Office today, when I arrived the line was out the door...uh oh.....I waited my turn in line and moved up to the counter where they keep all the supplies. Because I wasnt quite ready I let the next two customers behind go ahead of me (not a thank you from either, but score one for me in the Karma column, right?) Anyway, while Im addressing my letter, a man comes in, demanding tape (doesnt wait in line, or ask for tape, he demands tape, which by the way baffles me, why doesnt the post office keep tape on hand??? another rant for another day). The Gal behind the countersays she is only allowed to give tape to people who say Please.....gotta love that response, he looked around at the line and then left!! Anyway, there were now 9 people ahead of me, none of them had their packages ready, one woman insisted that the clerk go over the rates again (3rd time is a charm right?) And the guy at my now favorite postal employees window couldnt figure out how to read back the last 4 numbers on his credit card. She smiled and explained to him AGAIN, that he has to read them off.....anyway, put my job in a whole new light. No wonder these guys go POSTAL......I would be crying by noon!
