New poem from my upcoming book...."Journey of the Messenger." The Critique If I made a list of all the things I did to hurt people Or resonated on what they did to hurt me The list would go on for an eeeeeternity I must admit , that I am harder on myself than anyone else could ever possibly be So I sending out a message to the critiques Your emotional blackmail can no longer impact me. Why should I hold on or hum the melodies of the songs of old If I am moving forward, why would I continue to speak life into the things I’ve been told. Some wise person said, “If you are going to let people have space in your head then you should charge them rent.” Well the only person’s voice I want to hear is the one that contributes to the where my money’s spent. So today when I sit alone I ask God to allow me to be comfortable in my own skin Allow me to fix what’s broken so I can bask in the mirror once again. Now I can see the light in front of me Guiding me into the new things God has in store for me.
