The band uses public domain footage as the inspiration for its musical works. Nathan Stewart & Kayla Breitwieser, both members of SC post-rock band Pan, began playing music together after forming a relationship in late 2011. Their common interest in instrumental music, along with their similar style of composition, lead to early recordings and a desire to develop a more sophisticated sound. Incorporating a visual component became a staple of each composition--in some cases, helping to develop the songs movements and purpose. In the summer of 2014, S2O ventured to Montreal to record their first EP with Howard Bilerman of Hotel2Tango. It is available for purchase at any of their live shows as well as at their Bandcamp page.
