New scam. Guy meets you somewhere like canal walk. You are selling something. He will pay by doing an EFT from his laptop right infront of you. Whatever bank you are ....he is too! He starts the transaction (you can see he is on the bank s website for internet banking) and ask you to watch his laptop while he goes to toilet. Now you trust him even more for leaving his laptop with you a stranger while he goes to the loo. While he is away he does a fraudulent deposit at an ATM....he returns and pretend he is still busy on his laptop. Next moment your phone beeps and shows the deposit. Looks like he paid by eft but read carefully....there will stand its an electronic cheque deposit. Happened to my work colleague at canal walk. Was an African calling himself Tom. Please share.
