New senior and very critical position advertised by CDC Botswana (deadline already July 8, 2013) Botswana Combination Prevention Project (BCPP) Director Position: Medical Officer - (Overseas) Grade: GS-14 or Commissioned Corps Officer Equivalent Location: Gaborone, Botswana USAJobs Announcement Numbers: Medical Officer HHS-CDC-OD-13-908816 (External) HHS-CDC-OM-13-908498 (Internal) Duties and Responsibilities: Incumbent will develop, implement, monitor and evaluate the Botswana Combination Prevention Project (BCPP). The incumbent will also initiate, conduct, and coordinate the complex HIV/AIDS epidemiologic and biomedical research activities related to the conduct of the BCPP. Developing program plans and allocating funding, the incumbent will closely track both program progress and funding expenditures. The incumbent provides leadership direction and technical expertise to the BCPP CDC staff as well as the Ministry of Health (MOH), non-governmental organizations, medical institutions and other participating agencies. Supervise technical and administrative professional employees. Work closely with other investigators to ensure that projects are implemented according to protocol, and follows regulations specified by local and CDC ethical review.
