#NewVision: Student held over suicide attempt at Mulago. A twenty two -year-old student Innocent Muhangi who attempted to commit suicide at Mulago Hospital is in Police custody. According to Mualago Police, Muhangi moved from his home in Bulenga and wanted to commit suicide from Mulago hospital. The officer in charge of Mulago police station, Hashim Kasinga, said Muhangi a civil Engineer student at Kampala Polytechnic Mengo wanted to flyover from the hospital’s 4th floor to the ground level because UNEB had not released his examination results. Kasinga said, “The suspect complained about failure by UNEB to release his examinations results and yet he had handed in his course work. So he got stressed and decided to kill himself,” “We have counseled him and we have to take him to a psychiatric for medical examinations and find out whether he did it intentionally,” Kasinga said. Mulago hospital’s guards recently rescued a 40-year-old man from committing suicide at the hospital’s premises. The steering committee which was set up to counsel patients intervened and counseled the patient killing himself.
