Newbie question about chick down color. I just hatched my first peachicks and have what I think is five Blues and one Blackshoulder. The eggs came from a backyard hobbiest who said they were from a pair of Indigo. I did see the parents and their blues were duller, darker, but richer than what I see in most photos of blues (the cock was in full sunlight). Among my five Blues, one is significantly lighter in color than the others. Is this a normal variation among chicks or might there be something else in play? Thanks for any comments; Im trying to learn and there are few peafowl in this area.
