Newbury from above, looking at Bartholomew Street northwards, with the railway in the foreground, 1937. In the picture, No.1 in the 1970s and behind Vincents (No.4) was Consort Refrigeration, and in the 80s it was Ray Theodore Welding. Does anyone know what was there before Consort, I think it was a saw mill. At No.2 all the industrial buildings backing onto the railway was Woodlands Laundry - anyone remember them? They also had a shop in Bartholomew St., very near the Nags Head. There were about three entrances in Bart. St. to Woodlands Laundry back when this picture was taken.
