#News: Ambassador Berhane holds talks with Deputy Foreign Minister of #Belarus Ambassador Berhane Gebre-Christos, State Minister for Foreign Affairs, held talks (October 14) with Rybakov Valentin, Deputy Foreign Minister of Belarus. Discussions focused on expediting high-level visits, cementing all-round cooperation as well as devising ways to advancing long-term partnership at bilateral, regional and multilateral levels. Ambassador Berhane said that Ethiopia stood for the steady growth of the bilateral ties of the two countries. He stressed the importance of enhancing the scale and level of the economic, social and political cooperative partnership between the two nations. Rybakov Valentin said on his part that his visit was a new sign of expanding and deepening the continued growth of the bilateral engagement of the two countries. He emphasized that his country regarded Ethiopia as a key partner for pursuing shared benefits, underscoring that the existing partnership necessitated high-level consultations and discussions to find new ways with the view to broaden areas of cooperation, including cultural exchanges, trade, business, and investment. Ambassador Berhane added that Ethiopia was moving forward in all areas with double digit economic growth and building inclusive governance. He also said that the well-chosen policies and strategies helped Ethiopia to emerge as a new frontier of FDI and trade inflows and power trade in Africa. The engagement of investors and business peoples from Belarus would advance the growth of Ethio-Belarus ties to harness opportunities. He also detailed that Ethiopia was committed to build a middle-income economy with zero net carbon dioxide emissions by 2025 so that, he said, green and climate resilient path would define Ethiopia’s future. The State Minister reaffirmed that Ethiopia always valued its relations with Belarus and stood committed to expand and strengthen ties.
