News: Fresh Deal Alaska Rewards Emerging Guard RJ Jazul With Two-Year Extension Third-year guard RJ Jazul had provided a solid backcourt presence for the Alaska Aces all season long. But there was some questions about his lack of big game experience prior to the Aces’ run to the Commissioner’s Cup finals. Playing in the biggest stage of his career, Jazul came through in a big way for the Aces. He was the surprise top scorer for Alaska in Game One of the finals, helping kickstart the Aces’ sweep of Barangay Ginebra San Miguel. Alaska coach Luigi Trillo disclosed that the team has signed Jazul, a second-round pick of Rain or Shine in 2010, to a new two-year deal. Trillo said bringing back Jazul is a key part of the team’s goal to establish a new winning tradition. “I wanna bring back as many guys as we can. I have discussed this with the management and we are in the process of doing that,” said Trillo. Aside from Jazul, the coach has also recommended a contract extension for rookie Raphy Reyes, the team’s third-string point guard.
