News: Moving words from Sister Levines father, who shares his thoughts for the first time. Wow! It’s been 80 days since Kendals accident, which has changed our families lives forever. First and foremost let me say THANK YOU, to all the family, friends, and caring people around the world that have fasted, shared Kendals story, and kept our family in your prayers throughout this ordeal. Many of you have helped us in ways that can never be repaid. Some of you have even put your own lives, concerns and needs on hold, in order to help ease our burdens. For this you will be blessed. We want you all to know how grateful we are, to all of you that have gone out of your way to help make our lives at this time a little easier. Please know that every act of kindness towards our family, no matter how large or small it may seem to you, has been graciously appreciated. Everyone knows of or has heard of a story like my precious Kendals. But let me tell you, until you live it, you can’t imagine what spiritual, emotional, physical and financial strain this puts on a family. Luckily we have a few things going for us. 1 is friends and family like you praying for us and blessing our lives. And 2, which is even more important is the Knowledge and Faith that our Heavenly Father knows each of us, and has a plan for us. We have been the recipients of numerous Miracles and Tender Mercies throughout this journey, which has only just begun. Things have happened that most people would consider just luck or coincidence. But we KNOW that luck and coincidence, are just the worlds way of trying to deny the power of a Gracious and Glorious Father in Heaven, who blesses his children. Are we lucky that our daughter is still alive? NO! We are Blessed that our Heavenly Father chose her for this trial by fire. HE knows her by name, and knows her strengths and weaknesses (as HE does all of us). HE knows that she alone can accomplish the mission HE has in store for her, and we are fully confident that she will come out of this exactly how HE wants her to be. This faithful and loving Sister Missionary was willing to give up everything for our Heavenly Father. She gave up her basketball scholarship to serve HIM, and when HE asked her to give up her life for HIM, I believe she was ready and willing to do just that. And yet HE spared her. HE has a plan for her. How do I know you ask? Because I was comforted by our Heavenly Fathers love. The night after the accident, I knelt in prayer planning on pleading for my daughters life. But the words that came to my mind during that prayer, were of gratitude for The Atonement and how grateful I was for the sacrifice that our Heavenly Father made by giving His only son to us. And that as much as it hurt me, if it was HIS will, I was willing to make that sacrifice and give my daughter back to HIM. That’s when I was overcome with a warm feeling, and a voice in my head, that said “I’m not bringing her home, she has work yet to do”. And since that night, I have never worried about the outcome of this Journey. I have faith that she will recover, continue to touch peoples lives through her story, find a husband truly worthy of her, bare children, and continue to Love and Serve the Lord throughout a long and joyful life. Many of you ask, how can we be so strong. We’re strong because we have to be, We’re strong because she needs us to be, We’re strong because HE has promised to bless those that do their part and faithfully serve Him. By having a personal relationship with and knowing our Heavenly Father and His Son Jesus Christ, we can all be comforted during our hardest trials. This trial that Kendal and our family is going through right now may be hard for us, but we’re able to see and acknowledge the blessings that The Lord has seen fit to bestow upon us. This is Kendals Refiners Fire, and it’s a trial that our family can work through together. Each of us will come through this stronger in every way. David Levine
