News Release: Attorney General Morrisey Urges Target Shoppers To Sign Up For Free Credit Monitoring Offered By Company CHARLESTON—Attorney General Patrick Morrisey said West Virginia consumers who shopped at Target and fear that their personal information has been comprised may enroll for free credit monitoring services. During the past several days, Target has sent emails to customers offering one year of free credit monitoring, as well as identity theft insurance where available. The offer includes a complimentary copy of the consumer’s credit report so consumers can review accounts, balances and transactions. Target extended the offer to customers who were impacted by the security breach and consumers who previously shopped at its stores. “Target is making this service available to every customer who has shopped in a store in the United States,” Morrisey said. “This service will help customers, even those who were not affected by the Christmas season security breach, to ensure their identities are protected. West Virginians who have shopped with the company should take advantage of this offer.” To read the full release, go to: bit.ly/1eZUsNK
