News Release Councillor Brian Skakun has officially announced he is running for a fifth consecutive term for Prince George City Council. Brian was first elected to City Council in 2002 and has served on a number of City Committees. Being a local resident for 46 years, he knows what the issues are and is willing to do what he can to ensure your concerns are addressed at City Hall. Not being one that is easily intimated, Brian will continue to stand up for what he believes in and knows the citizens of Prince George expect that in their elected officials. If re-elected Brian will continue to focus on: • Growing tax base • Road maintenance and repaving • Transparency • Lobbying senior Governments and improving intergovernmental relations • Improved snow removal • Administrative accountability at City Hall • Building community pride • Youth engagement and consultation • Preserving green space Brian is also committed to working with the new council to ensure a “Principals before Personalities” approach is taken. The new council needs to have the freedom to share their independent views on various matters while keeping the common goal in mind of making Prince George a better place to live and invest in.
