News Release for Thursday, 10/23/14: On 10/22/14 at 12:10 p.m., Mackenzie E. Pfiefer, 20, of Oswego, NY was charged with AUO, 3rd degree (9/5/14 for Failure to Answer Summons in C/O Fulton) and Speed in Zone following a traffic stop on Munn St. in the City of Oswego reportedly initiated after patrol confirmed the vehicle’s speed. Ms. Pfiefer was released on UTT’s, returnable to the City of Oswego Court on 11/6/14. On 10/22/14 at 3:20 p.m., Brittany L. Rude, 18, of Central Square, NY; Joseph A. Smith, 20, of Central Square, NY; Randy M. Turo, 22, of Hastings, NY; James J. Smith, 23, of Central Square, NY were all arrested for Criminal Possession of Marijuana, 2nd degree, a class D felony and Endangering the Welfare of a Child, a class A misdemeanor with Joseph Smith also being charged with Unlawful Growing of Cannabis, a class A misdemeanor following the investigation into an unrelated incident in the Town of Palermo and where they were allegedly growing marijuana in the presence of an individual under the age of seventeen. All individuals were arraigned by Hon. Judge Aluzzi in T/O Volney Court and ROR’d with a return to T/O Palermo Court on 11/3/14. On 10/22/14 at 6:38 p.m., Jessica L. Jackemuk, 30, of Oswego, NY was arrested at her residence based on a Felony Bench Warrant issued out of the City of Oswego Court. Ms. Jackemuk was arraigned by Hon. Judge Metcalf and remanded to the OCJ in lieu of $500 cash or $1,000 bond with a return to Oswego City Court on 10/28/14. **The Oswego County Sheriffs Office recognizes that persons arrested for crimes are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
