A front-page story in the Apple Daily Newspaper cited confidential government documents as saying that the chief executive had ordered officials to look into a proposed 100-square kilometre Hong Kong Garden, in the district of Nansha in Guangzhou, and the island of Hengqin in Zhuhai. The report said the land would be leased #UN til 2047 -- to accomodate public ho #US ing, elderly homes -- and provide needed space for columbaria, and recycling facilities. Residents there would receive similar education and medical services similar to Hong Kong, and the area would even adopt the SARs legal and #tax systems.
