More Political News: Weekly Standard Politico National Review National Journal Washington Times RNC News Annual Board of Directors Meeting: September 18-20, 2014, Dallas, Texas Early Registration Deadline, August 1 The NFRW 2014 Annual Board of Directors Meeting will be held September 18-20, 2014, at the Grand Hyatt DFW at DFW Airport in Dallas, Texas. You wont want to miss the exciting speakers and important updates on the midterm elections and our new database/website. The meeting concludes with an optional trip to the George W. Bush Presidential Library on Saturday afternoon. Early registration closes on Monday, August 1. Click here to register. JUST ADDED Senator Ted Cruz to Address NFRW We are excited to announce that U.S. Senator Ted Cruz (TX) is confirmed for the Dallas meeting. Often mentioned as a potential 2016 presidential candidate, the Senator will address the Board during the Saturday morning session. NFRW Is Turning America Red For the 2014 election, the NFRWs goal is to elect at least 6 more Republican U.S. Senators! This week, we sent out the first in a series of Spotlights on U.S. Senate Races prepared by the NFRW Campaign Committee. Putting a Younger Face on the NFRW As part of the Federations millennial outreach, NFRW President Kathy Brugger hosted a reception on Capitol Hill on July 17 for summer interns in Washington. NFRWs own interns, Hayley Conklin and Rebecca Edwards, and executive projects coordinator Anushya Ramaswamy planned the very successful event, with inspiring words from the Heritage Foundations David Azerrad. The reception drew interns from the Hill, the RNC, and conservative think tanks and policy groups, as well as a surprise appearance by Congressman Mark Meadows (NC). Calling All Women in Tech Are you a club member with technical skills? Are you willing to donate your expertise to grow our organization? The tech industry is female-light, but we know youre out there! Our clubs need your help! The NFRW Tech Committee wants to: • develop resources and guides to help our clubs communicate internally and externally; • share information about tools to address the problems clubs face with web development, social media, online registrations, email marketing, and communications among and between clubs; • at the national level, consult on important tech projects and software solutions. NFRW Technology Committee Chairwoman Jenny Mundy, Vice Chairwoman Carol Spencer, and Executive Committee Advisor Lynne Hartung are extremely excited about the endless possibilities and opportunities for our Committee. In memorium: Flavia Grammie Trujillo (1919-2014) Flavia Trujillo, CFRW Grammie 2012-2013, mother of Carol Hadley (NFRW Caring For America Chair, Immediate Past California FRW President), passed away on Tuesday, July 15, 2014. Grammie loved her Republican Daughters and enjoyed all the hugs and kisses she received from you. Grammie loved the fact she joined the Federation at the young age of 91. Please join us as we celebrate Grammies life, on Saturday, July 26, 2014.
